What was once a group of Marines who happened to be musicians, has now become the increasingly successful Alpha Connection. In 1989 four Royal Marine musicians formed a band called Alpha Connection and performed at the odd holiday camp and at a few dinner dances in and around Portsmouth. They soon added the brass section to the band completing the current line up of Alpha Connection. In 1990 the band completed a world record for performing 108 hours non-stop in aid of the NSPCC and was officially entered in the 'Guinness Book of World Records'.
