era with a superb blend of Buddy's all time classic foot
stomping Rock 'N' Roll anthems and romantic ballads including-

and performed his ultimate tribute to Buddy nationwide
and in Europe appearing in many prestigious venues along

Bootleg
Buddy |
|
| The
songs of the legendary Buddy Holly are preformed in authentic
costume and sung to perfection. Lou Blackwell well known
for his faithful reproduction of 1950's music, together
with a brand new cast for 2004 appear as the crickets
featuring a brand new talent “Nick Player”
as Buddy and “Frank Rydell” as the big bopper.
The 15 year career of Bootleg Buddy has taken Lou to the
top venues throughout the world. Memorable credits include
being selected to entertain at Sir Cliff Richard's 50th
birthday party, the Glastonbury Festival and guest appearances
on National TV and Radio. Every song is performed live
in the original key signature, at the original tempo.
This is a unique portrayal of a time and talent sadly
no longer with us. Close your eyes and you will believe
the clock stopped more than 40 years ago, then open your
eyes and you will be there! |

Marc
Robinson & the Counterfeit Crickets |
|
|
Having Split with Bootleg Buddy, Marc went on to form
his own band the Counterfeit Crickets. Having established
themselves as the No1 Buddy Holly tribute band in the
UK, which then quickly followed across Europe. The sound
produced by the band is completely authentic and emulates
those authentic recordings of Buddy Holly and the Crickets.
The percussion on Everyday is played by the drummer
slapping his knees, and Not Fade Away is played on a
cardboard box as were the originals. The whole band
are performing in authentic Crickets attire. Marc's
uncanny resemblance to Buddy is further enhanced by
the horn rimmed specs, fender strat and a voice as close
to Buddy's as is surely possible. Not only is Marc's
voice close to Holly's own but it has been noted that
the phrasing of the song lyrics is spot on. This is
the attention to detail that has brought praise to Marc
from all over the UK and beyond. A 45 min Spot is recommended
but we can perform up to 2 hours and a full evenings
entertainment can be provided if required. We can also
supply other tribute artists to complete your evening
and make it a successful as possible. |

| Darren
started performing his tribute to Mick Hucknall in 1991
after appearing on, and winning, his heat in Granada Television's
"Stars In Their Eyes". Darrens vocal tribute
was hailed as "exceptional" and today is often
mistaken for the real thing. For the following two years
his band "Wonderland (Simply Red Tribute Band)"
performed at every working mans club in the North East
