Brian Connolly was the face and voice of glam rock legends The Sweet since their formation in the late sixties until his departure at the end of the seventies. Brian subsequently formed his own version of The Sweet and throughout the eighties and early nineties BC Sweet toured Europe continually playing to bigger and bigger crowds as the seventies revival took hold. In Germany, where The Sweet scored their biggest success during their chart years, Brian Connolly was unstoppable, playing to tens of thousands of people - a true hero of an era. Sadly, Brian passed away on February 9th, 1997 after a long illness. Due to demand, the band decided to continue, as a lasting tribute to Brian Connolly. Commencing with members of Brian's BC Sweet during the last years of his life, the band continued to tour throughout the nineties, playing major venues across Europe and closing the millennium with a triumphant performance to 45,000 in Cardiff on Millennium night. The band took this opportunity, after broadcasting live on BBC World to millions, to pay their tribute to Brian Connolly and make sure that he was firmly in the minds of thousands as a new Century began. BC Sweet continue to tour across Europe performing their all hit show to thousands of lovers of rock and pop music. The BC Sweet of today has an incredible heritage.
